DevOps Lead Engineer

elmenus is a venture-backed food discovery startup based in Egypt that serves over 1 Million monthly users. We are building a platform that combines a social, visual and personalized experience to help people discover and order the food they will love. We received a 1.5 Million USD in venture capital in mid 2017 to help us grow faster in the huge global market of food discovery. We are looking for the smartest, most impactful and passionate people to join our food loving team.

DevOps lead main tasks :

• Oversee technical mandates from the squads or Software Architect;
• Collaborate with various people in the development and infrastructure team (leads, architects, and project managers) to make sure that the Release Management process responds and adheres to the best delivery practices,
• Ensure that the roles and responsibilities are understood and clear amongst everyone in the DevOps team.
• Be a reference and provide guidance for all technical topics in your field of expertise;
• Be proactive in suggesting enhancements and technological choices in your field of expertise;
• Act as the main driver for the DevOps roadmap, including identifying the technical and business activities needed to support the transition of applications and infrastructure services from development to production.

Qualifications:

• Effective organization skills with attention to detail.
• 8+ years of Cloud DevOps experience working with one or more of the following Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud services: EC2, EKS, EMR, ECS, S3, SNS, SQS, Cloud Formation, Cloud watch, Lambda.
• +3 years proven experience in k8s and infrastructure as a code.
• 2+ years of experience using Java, Python, and configuration management tools such as Ansible.
• Proficient with CI/CD process, Agile and DevOps Software Development Life Cycle including analysis, high-level design, coding, testing, and implementation, performance tuning, bug fixing, and quality control.
• Streaming experience with Kafka is a plus, but not required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent work experience
