Engineering Manager
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 7-10 engineers across frontend and backend who are building our brands websites and platform.
- Responsible for the career development and growth of your team.
- Responsible for the technical delivery of the team, including meeting deadlines, good technical decision making and engineering velocity.
- Help to enforce engineering best practices to ensure quality.
- Be a point of contact for stakeholders outside of the team
- Vet engineers for technical aptitude and cultural fit during the interview process.
- Play a key role in how we structure and rearrange engineering teams as we grow.
Requirements:
- 1+ year of experience in an Engineering Manager role.
- 2-4+ years of experience as an Engineering IC.
- Experience working in a fast moving startup environment.
- Good technical decision making, being able to weigh trade-offs between technical and architectural decisions.
- Experience with building end to end web applications, we use a React, Redux, PHP, NodeJS stack.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferences:
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks like React, NextJS
- Experience in PHP / Laravel is a plus but not required
