Senior Test Analyst (Location Agnostic)

The Role

As a member of the Tech team, the Senior Test Analyst will work closely with the development, product, and business teams to build comprehensive manual and automated testing solutions. This role will be responsible for proactive bug-finding. The senior test analyst will create and maintain a regression test suite and test new features before release. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in complex financial solutions and is comfortable with lots of moving pieces. The role can be based in any location compatible with the African time zones and will report to the Director of Infrastructure and Information Security.

The duties and responsibilities of the role will be as follows:

  • Represent the software testing team and guide team’s efforts towards successful delivery of MFS development projects such as financial products for web applications, e-commerce portals, and system integration projects
  • Develop QA processes and procedures for the testing team, ensuring all testing activities follow best practices and are in sync with software development processes
  • Document test cases, acceptance criteria and test plans
  • Ensure execution of functional test plans and test cases
  • Create test automation frameworks to ensure stability, efficiency, and scalability in the automated solution
  • Draft and revise automated solutions
  • Review automated test scripts and code to ensure alignment with standards
  • Prepare status reports of testing activities and share testing updates and reports with relevant stakeholders
  • Monitor team activities to ensure that they meet testing schedules and adhere to specifications
  • Maintain and review documentation to ensure that systems are adequately tested and that all use cases are accounted for and signed-off on

Requirements

You might be a good fit if you:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Have at least 3-5 years software development experience with Java and MySQL
  • Have 4+ years’ experience with automated testing
  • Have experience in an Agile environment
  • Are a fast learner and strong problem-solver
  • Can work autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment
