Your role as part of the iX Team

Reporting to the SVP of B2B Sales & Partnerships, the Business Development Specialist (BDS) contributes significantly to the growth of iXperience’s most significant revenue engine. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to make an impact on the growth of existing distribution channel partners, development and nurturing of new partnerships and channels as well as co-creation of new products and services that meet our students and partners’ needs. It requires relationship, negotiation, sales and project management skills in equal measure.

The BDS will work within a team that will create new opportunities, managing and growing relationships with some of the largest distributor groups in the market. Strategically, the team owns oversight of all B2B Sales related strategies and tactics, management of significant budgets, and the overall leadership of this growing division within iXperience.

The BDS will be a sales leader within iXperience, and with our growth trajectory, there are opportunities for further progression for top performers. The role has significant input into the overall B2B sales strategy and plan, alongside the SVP of Sales & Partnerships, as well as responsibility for working alongside various members of iXperience Leadership to create joint plans and inform wider strategy.

More specifically, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Strategy:Build and deliver B2B strategies that create meaningful growth opportunities for iXperience through existing and new B2B sales channelsRespond to market trends to co-create new products and services that meet major customer needsDesign and manage a customer-centric inbound strategy as well as develop and execute an outbound strategy to ensure we are hitting our targets consistently
  • Build and deliver B2B strategies that create meaningful growth opportunities for iXperience through existing and new B2B sales channels
  • Respond to market trends to co-create new products and services that meet major customer needs
  • Design and manage a customer-centric inbound strategy as well as develop and execute an outbound strategy to ensure we are hitting our targets consistently
  • Channel and Partner Development:Direct and oversee current and new B2B Reseller Partners to ensure that they build strong opportunities and pipelines.Work with Reseller Partners to ensure continuous development and to generate new ideas and opportunities for the accounts they manageBring a stream of new business opportunities from within the existing partner population and potential new partners that drive new inflows across all areas of the iXperience groupManage distributors and represent iXperience at all levels but with a clear focus on senior relationships to drive profitable distribution capacity for iXperienceBuild a detailed understanding of distributor structure including (but not exclusive to) ownership, business aspirations, immediate plans, compliance processes, business areas, and membership information
  • Direct and oversee current and new B2B Reseller Partners to ensure that they build strong opportunities and pipelines.
  • Work with Reseller Partners to ensure continuous development and to generate new ideas and opportunities for the accounts they manage
  • Bring a stream of new business opportunities from within the existing partner population and potential new partners that drive new inflows across all areas of the iXperience group
  • Manage distributors and represent iXperience at all levels but with a clear focus on senior relationships to drive profitable distribution capacity for iXperience
  • Build a detailed understanding of distributor structure including (but not exclusive to) ownership, business aspirations, immediate plans, compliance processes, business areas, and membership information
  • Resource Coordination:Manage resources (within the team, wider sales team, and within other parts of the business) to ensure that the largest opportunities are maximisedMarketing: Drive the organisation and facilitation of campaigns to support the B2B sales process.Ensure that the team presents iXperience propositions and solutions at seminars, roadshows, to individual advisers, and other events to the highest possible standards
  • Manage resources (within the team, wider sales team, and within other parts of the business) to ensure that the largest opportunities are maximised
  • Marketing: Drive the organisation and facilitation of campaigns to support the B2B sales process.
  • Ensure that the team presents iXperience propositions and solutions at seminars, roadshows, to individual advisers, and other events to the highest possible standards

Abilities you’ll need to have to do this particular job well:

  • 5+ years of experience working in B2B sales and partnerships roles
  • 5+ years of experience running high performing sales teams
  • A strong history of closing deals and building relationships (education is a bonus)
  • Strong evidence of sourcing opportunities
  • Experience building sales presentations and creating compelling value propositions
  • Highly developed relationship management skills
  • Strong ability to manage and influence multiple stakeholders, across all levels, internally as well as externally
  • Excellent data analysis skills and the ability to make great decisions using both data and instinct
  • Experience working with spreadsheets and data
  • An up-to-date knowledge of the financial services landscape and its evolution
  • Highly developed presentation and facilitation skills
  • Excellent people management, leadership and planning skills along with experience in hiring teams
  • Self-starter with a drive to succeed and deliver
  • Able to grow accounts at senior levels within customer organisations; evidence of creating meaningful business opportunities through these relationships
  • The ability to develop a thorough knowledge of iXperience and its products and services
  • Excellent communication, numerical and analytical skills coupled with a good financial and legal aptitude
