Chief Digital Innovation Officer (Kenyan national)

Do you want to work on the digital transformation of Kenyan SMEs and do you have 10+ years of experience in advising SMEs and developing and/or managing Innovation Hubs, Science and Technology Parks or Business and Innovation Centers?

We are looking for a Swahili- and English (C2) speaking Kenyan national who can lead the establishment of a Kenyan Digital Innovation Hub (DIH), a one-stop shop for SMEs to become more competitive through using digital and innovative technologies. Specifically, you will work on the conceptualization, business model development, DIH operator selection and capacity building, partnership development with regional and European DIHs, attraction of public funding and organization of the launching event. As this is a publicly funded project, you will also have administration and reporting duties.

GFA Consulting Group is participating in a tender process. If you are selected for the role and we are awarded the contract, you will be contracted for 2 years (project-duration) by GFA Consulting Group on the basis of a daily fee. This is not a full-time function, but a consultancy-based role in which you will work a 385 working days divided over 2 years. The expected start of the role will be July 2022.

If you meet the requirements below, please respond:

• Education: University degree or a level of education which corresponds to completed university studies of 3 years in the field of business administration, social studies, IT, Engineering or other “STEM” studies

• Languages: English C2 and Swahili C2

• General professional experience: 10 years of professional experience in the field of provision of business development, innovation and services to SMEs, preferably two years in an advisor role

• Specific professional experience: 8 years of professional experience in development and/or management of an Innovation Hub / Science and Technology Parks / Business and Innovation Centers, the development of business models and plans, the design and implementation of capacity building measures, the ability to moderate and facilitate development processes.
