DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a passionate DevOps Engineer to help us build functional systems that improve our customers experience. As a DevOps Engineer your responsibilities will include deploying product updates, identifying production issues and implementing integrations that meet product and customer needs. If you have a solid background in software engineering and are familiar with AWS and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), we’d like to meet you! Ultimately, you will execute and automate operational processes fast, accurately and securely.

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, and expand our CI/CD pipeline
• Spearhead and champion the DevOps culture across our startup
• Configure and fine-tune cloud infrastructure systems
• Collaborate with the team to bring new features and services live
• Deploy updates and fixes to all infrastructure components
• Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience
• Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
• Perform root cause analysis for production errors
• Investigate and resolve technical issues
• Design procedures and playbooks for system troubleshooting and maintenance

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role
• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to collaborate and self-manage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Problem-solving attitude
• Working knowledge of databases and SQL
• Commanding knowledge of Unix/Linux
• Strong scripting skills Bash/Python/etc.
• Experience with version control systems (Github is preferred)
• Experience with CircleCI is a plus
• Experience with Terraform is a plus
• Experience working with build tools like Maven and Gradle is a plus
• Strong experience building and deploying RESTful APIs and microservices
• Strong knowledge on RDBMS & NoSQL databases administration
• Familiarity with Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, JSON and YAML
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (OSI, networking protocols, firewalls, load balancing)
• Experience with Containerization technology (Docker is preferred)
• AWS working experience is preferred
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Pingdom, NewRelic, Cloudwatch, Solarwinds)
• BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
