Intern, Marketing & Communications, E. Africa

Worldreader is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented intern with an interest in international development to support the Marketing & Communications (MarCom) team. Because the MarCom team supports the entire global organization, the position provides an opportunity to learn about Worldreader’s impact and play a vital role in its global visibility. The Worldreader marketing and communications intern will support the team with a variety of tasks related to building out internal systems, supporting visibility efforts, and producing marketing materials. The role reports to the senior marketing manager and senior brand content manager, both based in Barcelona with oversight from the senior director of global marketing & communications. 

Timing & Stipend

  • September to December (exact start and end dates are negotiable)
  • 10 hours/week minimum
  • Stipend provided at the end of the internship

Key Projects

  • Assist with writing blog posts as needed
  • Assist with social media communications

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university (third year or higher)
  • Interest in international development
  • Passion for helping the world read
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Native English speaker fluency
  • Fluent in Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Gmail, etc.)
  • Fluent in social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)
  • Ability to learn other digital platforms quickly (email marketing tools, databases, basic graphic design applications, etc.)
  • Ability to work remotely in a fast-paced environment
