Solve real world problems using well-developed skills in Machine Learning (ML), AI, data science and software engineering. Participate in a multidisciplinary team to understand the underlying business problems and apply technical knowledge to solve them. Develop both R&D proof-of-concept systems and production ready pilot systems involving AI, ML and statistical modeling. Develop and deploy ML and/or deep learning models that support decision-making and predictions as well as optimally train, test, evaluate and tune those models. Perform feature engineering on raw data to produce suitable input for ML model training. Work with Python AI/ML frameworks such as Tensorflow, Keras, ScikitLearn. Incorporate open source Python libraries for doing task including entity recognition, information extraction, sentiment analysis, topic modelling, word2vec, visual object recognition, and speech recognition. Develop Natural Language Processing (NLP) applications to transform/process unstructured text data using open-source toolkit such as NLTK and Genism. Learn the structure and tables of the SEI data warehouse that pertain to the business areas relevant to the teams projects. Clean, analyze and process complex data sets to get it ready for ML processing. Using advanced SQL querying, visualization and analytics tools. Develop data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Develop software appropriately using Google Cloud API services such as speech recognition, sentiment analysis, computer vision and others. Perform Infrastructure provisioning on distributed computing systems on GCP. Design, build, and troubleshoot data processing systems that are secure, reliable, fault-tolerant, scalable, and efficient. Use source control software to maintain the team’s software library on multiple platforms including on-prem and GCP. Document code to the right level of detail. Keep up to date on the latest open source Python libraries in the latest new capabilities from GCP and look for evaluate them for improving the capabilities and reliability of the code base. Continues to grow knowledge of the latest developments in AI to identify candidate technologies for possible application to SEI’s business needs. Work with SMEs to elicit knowledge of areas of business knowledge relevant to the beginning stage of possible new AI systems.

Master of Science degree in Information Systems or a data science related field and 2 years of experience with experience in the following through coursework and/or work experience: Building robust software systems using well-developed skills in data mining, machine learning, and data science; Deploying statistical or data mining models that support decision making and predictions in applications; Utilizing Python language; Using Natural language Processing (NLP) software packages, such as Python’s NLTK; Working with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP); Fluent in advanced SQL querying; Adept at using visualization and analytics tools; Performing infrastructure provisioning in distributed computing environments; Designing, building, and troubleshooting data processing systems that are secure, reliable, and efficient; Keeping up-to-date on the latest developments in the Python and Data Science communities and look for opportunities to apply this knowledge to their work; Linux OS. 5% Travel Required
