Senior DevOps Engineer

The Role

As our Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll contribute to our infrastructure and ops functions at Payflex reporting to the CTO. The role includes the following:

Requirements

• Assisting merchants with custom integrations into the Payflex API.
• Improving and maintaining the Payflex e-commerce plugins for various e-commerce platforms, including Magento, Woocommerce and Shopify.
• Maintain the performance and availability of the platforms you support
• Develop escalation strategies for always-on support
• Lead development of high-quality monitoring solutions across multiple tech stacks
• Help support the diagnosis of production issues when they happen
• Perform effective code reviews
• Develop strategies for HA, DR, canary deployments and rollbacks
• Manage a backlog of features, bugs and technical debt and effectively manage priority
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
• Work in a team with a “team-first” mentality
• Design and build deployment pipelines in collaboration with development teams
• Deliver reusable service/infrastructure templates
• Educate developers about tools and practices
• Identify and remediate pain points in the application lifecycle
• Recommend and assist with architectural changes to improve performance and reliability

To help us level up, you’ll ideally have:

• A Computer Science degree from a leading University (ideally with Honours or Masters)
• 5+ years of DevOps experience (ideally in the Fintech space)
• Expert knowledge of Software Development with at least one language
• Expert knowledge of AWS and Azure
• Experience with EventStore and Azure Message/Service bus (bonus!)
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g. Gitlab CI, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, etc)
• Understanding of serverless technologies
• Collaborative team player
• Excellent troubleshooting and analysis skills
• Ability to manage time effectively
