The DevOps teams at Shipt are tasked with building platforms that deliver a best-in-class experience to Shipt’s engineers. From cloud infrastructure, to delivery tooling, to data movement, and more, DevOps platforms strive to make tools that are simple, secure, scalable, and pleasurable to use. This empowers Shipt engineers to “deliver the goods'' as rapidly as the business requires.

As an Associate Engineer, you’ll build solutions using cutting-edge technology, and expand your knowledge of cloud technologies.
Your Responsibilities
- Drive to manage assignments against timelines and know when to ask for help

- Build, operate and support highly available, scalable platforms and systems in a microservice environment for internal engineering teams

- Implement features with observability in mind
- Authentically contribute to discussions on the best technical design and approach
- Create solutions that meet all development & security standards

- Maintain domain specific documentation
Requirements
- Have used at least one software development language, such as Python or Golang, to build an application.
- Working knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, etc)
- Working knowledge of Continuous Integration tooling (Drone, CircleCI, etc)
- Have experimented with at least one public cloud provider (AWS, GCP)
- Experience using a Git repository
- Experimentation with an Infrastructure as Code technology such as Ansible, Cloud Formation or Terraform
Nice to Haves
- Experience using datastores such as Postgres, Redis, etc.
- Experience with messaging technologies, such as Kafka, AMQP, RabbitMQ, etc.
- Familiarity with GitOps (driving change via CI/CD from within Git)
- Working knowledge of deployment technologies such as Helm
- Experience with Linux
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (virtual networking, subnets, routing, load balancing, DNS, etc) and network security.
