Flash is looking for a Lead Product Manager to be based in our Trader Division who is a creative, demonstrated leader with excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
The ideal candidate must be able to thrive and succeed in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.
This means you will develop and drive high-level strategic product initiatives, but you must also have a high level of emotional intelligence with the ability to influence and motivate to get the right things done.
You will be the champion for the needs of your team as well as the Trader’s. At the core of the position is delivery and a passion to make people’s lives easier in the informal communities of SA.
BA or BS in a technical field
8+ years of product management experience in a leadership capacity’ - including developing technical products in a high growth environment, from inception to delivery
A strong technical background with software development or technical management experience, and an understanding of the software development life cycle
Experience working on projects with cross functional teams in an Agile environment
Business Development or Growth Management experience and experience in creating campaigns and driving product awareness
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex data and information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, including executives and technical/non-technical leaders
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
Experience in owning a suite of products and defining long-term product strategy and vision aligned with the customers need in mind
Experience creating complex technical and functional specifications aligned with business requirements and customer needs
Previous experience in / with the informal retail industry (will be a major advantage)
The ability to work with and influence remote teams
Experience working with Content management systems and Product catalogues
Understanding and preparation of flows and wireframes
App UI/UX understanding, design and enhancement
Experience with Android, IOS and USSD platforms
Understanding Web/App analytics, implementation and monitoring thereof
Leading individuals across functions to deliver products and ensure product vision is implemented effectively
Working with multiple teams across the business and all internal and external stakeholders to effectively manage, design and build highly effective product strategies and roadmaps
Driving the development of new products or product changes and enhancements aligned with our Trader’s needs
Actively participate with product managers and the product development teams to define product requirements and specifications
Drive strategic product communications across the organization (e.g. decision narratives, product updates, tracking of successes and failures) internally and externally with business leaders and all relevant stakeholders
Drive alignment on product features, business metrics, and business strategies across the organisation
Identify business opportunities to expand, automate, or optimize our Trader product offering
Facilitate and drive innovation of new products that align with business strategy and Trader needs
Evolve product strategy based on research, data, and industry trends.
Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues or bottlenecks that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals.
Conduct data analysis to drive decision making and identify key challenges and opportunities
