Purpose of the job

The purpose of the QA Tester position is to ensure the quality of new and existing development features and deployments and maintaining product stability.

The QA Tester will work closely with the Implementation, Development and Professional Services Teams to ensure that all development features, whether as part of the Wyzetalk road or part of a bespoke customer projects, are developed, tested and implemented according to specification and proper test standards.

The QA Tester will be responsible for:

  • Performing manual tests to ensure the quality and accuracy of new and existing development features
  • Identify, log, track and follow up on all defects, errors and inconsistencies
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure ongoing stability and improvements

Key areas of responsibility

For this job, the most critical areas of responsibility (Key Performance Areas – KPA’s) are:

  1. Quality Assurance Testing
  2. User Acceptance Testing
  3. Product Stability

Job activities/ tasks

Quality Assurance Testing

  • Working closely with Project Delivery and Developers to identify and create test plans
  • Responsible for routine regression cycles to maintain a continuous improvement environment to improve quality and efficient
  • Ensure all defects, improvements and inconsistencies identified during regression cycles are logged
  • Follow up on all defects with the Developers and ensure its resolution and deployment in new development sprints
  • Review test strategies, encourage the development of new test strategies, and maintain a continuous improvement environment to improve quality and efficiency;

User Acceptance Testing

  • Ensure UAT environment stability by executing and signing off on test plans prior to client UAT
  • Ensure identification and resolution of issues identified during the UAT process

Product Stability

  • Ensure that all new features from bespoke development are added to the existing regression cycle to ensure stability of new features as part of new development cycles
  • Working closely with the Professional Services and Support Teams to identify platform errors, inconsistencies and improvements
  • Working closely with the Implementations and Development Teams to ensure that these issues are identified and addressed as part of development pipeline
  • Ensure the resolution of all errors, inconsistencies and improvements are resolved and added to regression cycles

Minimum qualifications & experience

  • Degree in Computer Science or any other degree acceptable to the Secretariat with a major part relevant to computing
  • Desirable: ISQP course
  • 2 years direct experience in software testing in a structured test environment
  • Proficiency in software testing techniques, testing tools, incident/defect tracking systems and other test-support tools
  • Testing experience of Client Server and Web based Systems
