Senior Software Engineer

What experience we’re looking for?
- BSc in Computer Science or a related IT degree/diploma.
- Min 5 years’ experience in a senior development role
- Broad experience designing, programming, and implementing large information systems.
- Experience with all elements of change control.
- Experience in taking systems specification requirements and developing code with minimal supervision.
- Able to communicate accross business & technical levels
- Strong organization, documentation and time management skills
- Ability to lead/mentor others

A day in your life?
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties.
- Research appropriate solutions and provide technical expertise and recommendations.
- Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes.
- Develop, enhance and maintain technical solutions that conform both to user requirements and specified architectural design with minimal supervision in well designed and efficient code.
- Define scope, tasks and duration of the solution based on business requirements.
- Design and write test cases for developer testing and document the system specifications.
- Conduct code reviews and drive coding standards and policies within the team.
- Provide mentorship to junior developers to assist them in their career growth and proficiency.
- Take ownership and drive all aspects of the SDLC.
- Migrate applications into applicable environments.
- Conduct post implementation monitoring.
- Complete and maintain relevant documentation.
- Assist in problem resolution and guidance to the support team through problem research.
