He worked with a team of Newcastle University students in the UK to develop software to make it happen and realised other businesses could benefit from this too.

In 1981, he formed Sage. In 1998, Sage came to North America with the acquisition of leading desktop accounting software, Peachtree.

Legal Intern

To provide structured, pragmatic and risk based legal support and act as a legal business partner to those business areas supported by the AME team including the Strategic Alliances, Marketing, Corporate Development, Product, Privacy and Commercial Sales.

Under the direction of the Regional Legal Director, AME: • As a valued business partner as a collaborative business partner, deliver end-to-end legal advice to those business areas supported by the AME legal team. • Demonstrates a sound understanding of Sage's key strategic and functional areas. • Work collaboratively with other teams within Legal Services to ensure effective and fully aligned end-to-end legal support to wider business colleagues. • Ensure that governance is adhered to and collaborate with other functional colleagues (e.g. Procurement; Tax; Finance; HR, Risk, Assurance , Compliance and Company Secretarial) to ensure that legal risk is managed in accordance with Sage risk tolerances. • Advise, influence and support key stakeholders at all levels across our operations to ensure close alignment between Legal Services and business areas. Legal Counsel

The Marketing Intern will coordinate daily marketing activities while supporting the marketing team in driving NCA. They will play a critical role in the smooth operation of the department, its attainment of goals as well as the long-term growth and success of the business as a whole

• Assisting with the planning and implementation of marketing activations for direct and partner campaigns • Providing support for marketing events and exhibitions as required • Coordinating the production of marketing communications and collateral • Uploading marketing material to online libraries, internet groups and internal social media sites • Support in social media content for the region • Updating and maintaining the marketing department's documentation • Control all marketing branding and assets, including the ordering, issuing of material to sales team, maintenance and stock control • Special project coordination and the marketing elements thereof • Assisting with sales, marketing and communication functions of the team and other related duties as assigned Skills, know-how and experience: • Personable, presentable and articulate • Effective project management skills • Sound understanding of marketing principles • Strong writing skills and the ability to communicate ideas • Excellent English communication skills – written and spoken • Strong administration and organisational skills • Team player Technical / professional qualifications: • Computer proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PPT, Excel) • Experience on Sage Enterprise Management advantageous • Digital Marketing or related qualification essential • Experience using social media and social media management software advantageous.

Marketing Intern

The Data Analyst role is responsible for generating and delivering campaign selections for key marketing activities to agreed standards and SLAs. This successful candidate will leverage the global data infrastructure (processes, technology, data etc.) to efficiently analyse data sets and execute against the data plan. The role holder will be responsible for deriving insights from rapidly growing data sets. Responsibilities will include extracting, transforming, reporting and visualising data on past, current and future customers.

• Execution of data deliverables to agreed SLAs using global defined processes (including requests submitted for segmentation/target lists, list uploads, de-dupe, data import etc.). • Execution of regular data updates according to agreed calendar (such as lead data enrichment/cleansing), using available tools and automating updates where possible. • Explore and analyse customer databases, optimising segmentation and data quality to improve marketing performance. • Leverage look-a-like/propensity models to fine tune segmentation and targeting. • Take part in on-going maintenance, cleansing and enrichment of data according to Sage’s pillars of quality improvement. • Keeping up to date and have full understanding of marketing compliance regulations and how this impacts target lists and marketing deliverables.
